As a special treat, Victoria Medina entertains us with a song.

Then we enjoy a violin recital

presented by

Alex Jeoung
student of
Dr. Oleg Proskurnya

Alex Jeoung was born in Seoul, South Korea, in 1999. At the age of 6 his mother discovered his innate musicality as he hummed themes from Beethoven's Symphony No.3 after hearing a radio performance of the work. At the age of 9 Alex enrolled in his after-school violin program where he received minimal training. Later on he started to take proper lessons. His teacher realized that he had a talent playing violin.

At the age of 11, he moved to Kingsville, Texas. Unable to find a local violin teacher for 10 months, Alex kept practicing with the music he brought from Korea. In November, he finally met a new violin teacher, Dr. Oleg Proskurnya at the Texas A&M University-Kingsville. Later, he was asked by Dr. Proskurnya to join the Kingsville Symphony Orchestra. Alex is attending 7th grade in the Santa Gertrudis Junior High/Elementary School.

Alex is accompanied by Zachary Harwell and his sister, Katherine.

Our guest, Evelyn Jenson, reports on her time as President of the Music Club of Kingsville.

Time for our Valentine Treats.
